New Zealand’s Pinot Noir makers needed an international event to help them maintain the premium pricing of their wines in a global market set to experience a big upswing in production volumes.
Verve worked with the winemakers to attract 600 delegates from around the world and around New Zealand to an international Pinot Noir Conference in Wellington—where they could sample the finest local pinots alongside our best food.
Working with the winemakers, Wellington City Council and Tourism New Zealand, we designed the event, sold the sponsorship, enthused the wineries, ran the international marketing strategy for buyers, consumers, media and wine personalities, and handled all the site, equipment and guest logistics.
We lured the stars of the wine world, who arrived to find what they declared to be an entire city in love with Pinot Noir. The event generated international media coverage about the value of New Zealand’s premium-grade Pinots worth $10 million, and demands from delegates to do it all over again soon.
